first_imgTata Motors has made Tiago XE as the base variant of its much-loved hatchback and priced it at Rs 4.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Tiago XB, which was the entry-level version earlier and devoid of even basic features such as an air-conditioner, has now been discontinued.Tata has also made ABS (antilock braking system) with EBD (electronic brake force distribution) and corner stability control as standard safety features across all the variants of Tiago. This is confirmed by the hatchback’s brochure available online. Previously, these features were only provided in the XZ, XZA and XZ+ variants of the car.Tiago is available in two engine options — a Revotron 1.2-litre, three cylinder petrol engine and a Revotorq 1.05-litre, three cylinder diesel engine. Both the engines come with multi drive modes and are mated to a manual five-speed transmission. The petrol variant has an option for a five-speed automatic transmission as well.
