It must be all the practise he gets on Donegal’s greens which have helped one golfer score the week of his life.Paul McGinley hasn’t hit three hole-n-ones like his brother! Some golfers wait a lifetime for an ace, some golfers never hit one but the brother of one of Ireland’s best-known golfers has done it three times in less than a week.Michael McGinley, the brother of last year’s victorious European Ryder Cup captain whose mum and dad hail from Donegal, tamed the par threes at the world-class Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club. Michael is a regular on Donegal’s greens and often plays with brother Paul and dad Mick.He lives in the United Arab Emirates where he works in the duty free industry. He got the ball rolling on February 12 when he sank his approach to the fourth hole.Just over 24 hours later, he repeated the feat at the par three fifth and, incredibly, four days later he made it a hat-trick of aces at the eighth. Three hole-in-ones on three separate holes at the same course. The odds for such an achievement are said to be 75,000,000/1.Michael plays off a plus-one handicap and is well known in amateur circles in Ireland.“It is an amazing feeling. I had a hole in one when I was 15 years old and haven’t had one since,” McGinley said. “To have three in six days is just incredible and something that I will definitely never forget. Achieving two holes in one in two days was something special, however the third really is unbelievable.”DONEGAL GOLF GREENS HELP McGINLEY SINK THREE HOLE-IN-ONES! was last modified: February 24th, 2015 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:donegalgolfhole in onePaul McGinleyread more
